The Zachodniopomorskie Oncology Centre (ZCO) in Szczecin is preparing to announce tenders for the supply of medical equipment for a new, 8,000 m
2 Centre for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Breast Cancer (CDTNP).
The total value of the project is PLN 44.5m (€9.8m), of which 55% will come from EU funds from the Regional Operational Programme. The first phase of construction work has just been finished and the facility is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2012.
At present the ZCO – the only hospital of this type in Northwestern Poland – is facing substantial under-capacity and has to lease 70 beds at a nearby ecclesiastical dormitory.
