Enel-Med receives MRI contract from large Warsaw hospital
2012-01-20
Enel-Med has strengthened its diagnostics business by winning a two-year contract for the provision of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) services for the Wolski Hospital in Warsaw. The contract covers both scheduled and emergency 24/7 testing services for the hospital’s patients, and will run until December 2013. Its estimated minimal value is PLN 0.3m (€0.07m). The services will be performed by Enel-Med’s newly diagnostic centre in the capital city, which was opened in December 2011.
According to CEO Adam Rozwadowski, the fact that Enel-Med emerged victorious in the tender reflects the fact that it now has the most modern equipment on the market, notably a new 1.5-Tesla MRI scanner.
The Warsaw centre, which also has a e.g. a 64-slice, two-source CT scanner, cost about PLN 13m (€3m).
Diagnostic services are the second-most profitable area of business for Enel-Med, delivering PLN 2m (€0.44m) in revenues a month, according to the company. The group sees strong growth potential in this market, as public hospitals in Poland increasingly outsource diagnostic services to private contractors.
