Amendment to Reimbursement Act ready to become law on 9 February
2012-01-27
The amendment to the Reimbursement Act enacted by the Sejm on 13 January was published in the Journal of Laws on 25 January. It has a vacatio legis of 14 days, which means that the new regulations will take effect on 9 February.
The amendment abolishes the financial responsibility of doctors for faulty prescriptions, grants an amnesty for those doctors and pharmacists who issued or accepted such prescriptions between 1 January and its coming into force, and gives pharmacies the right of appeal against financial penalties imposed by National Health Fund (NFZ) inspectors, among other changes. It also softens the requirements for doctors to indicate the applicable level of reimbursement on prescriptions.
