Sopharma, the Bulgarian drug maker, is maintaining plans to obtain a second listing on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, and the debut will take place immediately after necessary updates to its share prospectus are completed, its representatives told Parkiet. The news came as Sopharma reported a 11% jump in sales revenues in 2009 to BGN 186m (€94.8m).
In December the Bulgarian firm said it would make its debut on the WSE in February. Two weeks ago a crucial agreement was signed between UniCredit BulBank and the National Deposit of Securities (KDPW) that paves the way for a dual listing. As earlier indicated, the flotation will not be accompanied by a public offering of new shares.
Sopharma is present in Poland both directly and through Zdrovit, a joint-venture that makes vitamins and dietary supplements. The company has in recent years completed a string of acquisitions in the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region, and in 2008 indicated it was planning M&A deals in Poland (as well as Romania). In 2009 exports accounted for about two thirds of revenues.
