The number of new flu cases fell in the last six days of February (but daily morbidity edged up slightly), and was less than half the figure in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Between 23-28 February, a total of 12,341 confirmed and suspected flu cases were reported, a decline of 7.5% in relation to the 16-23 February period. On a year-on-year basis, the figure was down by 52.3%. The average daily morbidity amounted to 5.39.
Meanwhile, sanitary-epidemiology stations reported no new deaths from the A/H1N1 virus over this period. The death toll so far is 175.
