Synexus expands Gdynia centre
2010-07-12
Synexus, a UK firm specialised in patient recruitment and
clinical trials, announced a major expansion of its clinical trial operation in Gdynia.
The Gdynia unit will move to a bigger, 300 m2 dedicated research centre later this year, a trebling of its total space from 100 m2 at the moment. The new centre will have capacity for four full-time investigators and “will include a wide range of diagnostic instruments in line with Synexus’s widening therapy area coverage”, the company said in a statement.
The move comes shortly after a similar expansion at Synexus’ centre in Wroclaw by several hundred square meters.
According to Dr Radoslaw Janiak, Synexus Country Manager for Poland, the recent capacity extensions reflect an increasing involvement of the Polish unit in large global clinical trials, thanks to successful recruitment of patients and professionalism of staff, amid growing awareness of leading pharma firms and CROs of the importance of clinical trials in Poland.
Synexus has been present in Poland since 2006. In August 2009 it acquired
Centrum Leczenia Chorob Cywilizacyjnych (CLCC), a Site Management Organisation, with three dedicated research centres in Warsaw, Gdynia, and Katowice.
