Receipts from mandatory healthcare contributions in May were again higher than envisaged in the National Health Fund (NFZ)’s financial plan, although the difference between projected and actual revenues has narrowed steadily since March.
The Fund received nearly PLN 4.42bn (€1.08bn) in contributions in May, which was PLN 78m (€19.1m) higher than expected. By way of comparison, in March the extra revenues amounted to almost PLN 225m (€55.1m) and in April nearly PLN 160m (€39.2m). (On the other hand, the May figure was PLN 30m or €7.3m lower than envisaged in the Fund’s even-distribution plan, which spreads predicted revenues evenly across 12 months.)
Cumulatively in the first five months of the year NFZ’s revenues exceeded the plan by more than PLN 824m (€201.7m).
In late May the Fund approved a revised financial plan for this year that takes account of the higher receipts and envisages that in 2010 as a whole, it will raise almost PLN 2.4bn (€588m) more in mandatory healthcare contributions than originally estimated.
