Podkarpackie allocates PLN 25m for healthcare infrastructure projects

The government of the Podkarpackie voivodship has awarded an extra PLN 25m (€6.1m) in EU grants for seven
healthcare infrastructure projects in the province that were originally on the reserve list.
Four grants are worth approx. PLN 5m (€1.2m). Thus, the Healthcare Centre in Jaroslaw will receive a little over PLN 4.9m (€1.2m) for the construction and expansion of facilities for its gynaecology & obstetrics ward; the F. Chopin Voivodship Specialist Hospital in Rzeszow was awarded PLN 5m for upgrading, expanding and equipping the Podkarpackie Oncology Centre; the John Paul II Voivodship hospital in Krosno will also receive almost PLN 5m to help fund purchases of medical equipment for a new operating block; and the Voivodship Mental Hospital in Zurawica will get PLN 5m for modernisation and expansion of its facilities. Furthermore, the Independent Public Health Centre in Nowa Deba was awarded over PLN 2.3m (€0.6m) for improving the quality and availability of oncological treatment; the Independent Public Health Centre in Kolbuszowa was granted in excess of PLN 1.5m (€0.36m) to build an intensive cardiological care room with diagnostic facilities; finally, the Voivodship Hospital in Przemysl will receive PLN 1.4m (€0.34m) for highly specialist medical equipment.
