Extra PLN 83m of NZF funds distributed in Swietokrzyskie voivodship

The largest part of the additional PLN 83m (€21.2m) of funding received by Swietokrzyskie branch of the National Health Fund (NFZ) has been allocated to drug reimbursement and enlargement of the contract with the Swietokrzyskie Oncology Center (SCO), Rynek Zdrowia reported. NFZ decided to spend PLN 26m (€6.6m) for drug reimbursement. PLN 20m (€5.1m) will be allocated for the expansion of the NFZ’s contract with SCO in scope of PET examinations, chemotherapy, therapeutic programmes, MRI and haemodialysis. The fund also owes SCO money for services preformed in excess of the contract in 2009. The SCO management is to decide whether to settle for NFZ's offer of 50% of the outstanding sum, or take the case to court to demand the repayment of the entire debt.
The rest of the funds will be allocated to enlarging current year’s contracts with other healthcare providers. In Starachowice, the Fund is to pay for additional beds in palliative care ward; in health resort in Busko Zdroj it will finance cardiology rehabilitation; and in Morawica it is to pay for services rendered in the psychiatric division.
