The Health Technology Assessment Agency (AOTM) has adopted three new recommendations regarding state reimbursement of medicinal products. Two are positive.
Thus, the Agency gave a positive advice for the funding of Efient (prasugrel, Eli Lilly) co-administered with aspirin in the treatment of cardiovascular events in certain categories of patients with acute myocardial ischaemia (but advised against the reimbursement of presurgrel in other types of acute myocardial ischaemia and in the treatment of diabetes, pending the publication of new data). It also approved the reimbursement of Egistrozol (anastrozole, Egis) as a first-line support therapy in the treatment of prasugrel in other types of early-stage hormone-dependent breast cancer, concluding that the medicine was comparable in profile but cheaper than the medicine currently enjoying a positive AOTM opinion in this area.
At the same time, the Agency issued a negative advice for the funding of dronedarone (Multaq, Sanofi-Aventis) in the treatment of non-permanent atrial flutter in adult patients.
