Swissmed's sales up 10% in H1 2010

Swissmed, a listed healthcare group, reported a 10.2% y-o-y increase in revenues in the first half of the year, to just above PLN 24.9m (€6.2m). Group net profit decreased by 92% y-o-y to PLN 0.06m (€0.015m).
Revenues from contracts with the National Health Fund (NFZ) jumped by 5.9% y-o-y in H1, to PLN 13.1m (€3.3m), and accounted for 51.3% of total sales (down from 54%). Revenues from private patients rose by 11.7% y-o-y to PLN 11.0m (€2.8m), or 43.1% of the total (up from 43%). Value of hospital services surged by 9.0% y-o-y in H1 and exceeded PLN 14.2m (€3.5m), especially because of a 12.6% y-o-y increase in the number of private hospital patients.
In outpatient services, revenues rose 7.7% to a little over PLN 9.9m (€2.5m). Here the number of private patients increased as well by 18.6% y-o-y, Swissmed said.
Swissmed expects that the year 2010 will bring stabilisation in revenue growth for the company.
